Audio out from lightning port on iOS

Hi. I would like to get the best possible audio from a couple of iOS apps into an external DAW. Can this be done via the Lightning port?

I Think that the lightning to USB adaptor could feel out 24bit but I don't know if I would be able to route this into my Mac.

All ideas welcome:)
